Sure Alan,

Dr Frank Schallenberger was on a lecture tour in South Africa some years ago  
and I 
attended several of his public lectures. I may have notes on why its better but 
he did say that 
taking sodium bicarbonate is fine in the short term but his formula is better 
in that it provides 
a more balance electrolyte without depleting or overloading. 

I have tried to contact him because he had an excellent Green Drink recipe 
which I never got 
written down. I never received any replies.

A very pleasant and knowledgeable man but hounded by the m profession. If you 
can contact 
him it would be worth it.
