Hi all, My general advice is that you use borosilicate glass for brewing that way you can significantly minimise the effects of anything leeching into the water and other interactions that may occur.

I brewed a batch in a crystal jug years ago and it turned tea coloured in a very short time. I assumed electrolysis of the silver interacted with the lead in the crystal? Was always going to repeat the exercise to satisfy myself one way or tuther, but never have.
