Dear List, I am in the process of finding a good dentist to remove amalgam fillings. In my "research" on this topic, I have found three very informative sites on the internet.
Dr. Hal Huggins' website: http://www.hugnet.com/ If I had the financial resources, I'd fly to the USA and have one of his associates remove the amalgam. They can probably give you the names of a competent dentist in your local area. Dr. Huggins has published a booklet called "Protocol For Amalgam Removal and Dental Revision". This is a must-read if you are going to have your amalgam removed. This will arm you with all the info you need to assure your safety. You just can't trust dentists to do it right. He also has the book "It's All in Your Head" and some videos. Then there is Peak Energy Performance, Inc.: They offer a test called Serum Biocompatibility Testing: http://www.peakenergy.com/ This is a sophisticated blood test to help determine on an individual basis the least toxic replacement dental materials. It turns out that many non-mercury dental materials may compromise your immune system. Just because it does not have mercury, does not mean it won't make you ill. These people also operate out of Colorado Springs, like the Huggins' team. I think that this test could be very important for sensitive people. He insists that one arm oneself with all the facts before having the mercury removed.
