A friend's tomboy daughter managed to scrape her eyeball - it was showing blood - a few months ago, so she rushed to the Dr who said wait and see, come back tomorrow... The friend went home angry as she felt more attention was needed. So she put a drop of CS [3-5 ppm] on the scrape every half hour that day. Next day there was no sign of the scrape at all. The doctor told her it was just natural healing... I had some thing flicked into my eye while letting out some of my poultry - so I sloshed CS in it as a precaution. Have done so before.
