I had heard that Japan has re-introduced it's vaccination programme again. And along with it the cot death rate has risen again. The cot death rate over there dropped to virtually nil when they stopped vaccinating the under twos.
My three children are not vaccinated, by choice. I hate to think what they would have been like had I chosen to vaccinate. Both myself and my husband have allergies which we of course have passed on to them. Interestingly enough, we have a Whooping Cough epidemic going here in New Zealand. My children all had it last year, and all coped with it differently. None of them choked, stopped breathing, or had side effects from WC. My middle child got it very badly, my eldest reasonably badly, and my youngest who was under 1 year, who has very severe disabilities, coped extremely well, and hardly noticed she had it. Doctors recoil in horror at the amount of Vitamin C I give my children, but the proof is in the pudding. They still get sick, but don't get complications with it, and cope really well. Feel free to ask me about natural things to use for Chicken Pox and Whooping cough - it really works better than the vaccine in most cases. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to catch WC, it's very nasty! I am reading with interest all the info on vaccination etc - I used to run a Informed Choice group for parents who want to be informed about vaccination. In New Zealand you can decide whether to vaccinate or not. You feel a bit of pressure from the schools and other parents, but that's o.k, we are all different. I am so glad it is not compulsory.
