The likelihood that the tick was carrying Lymes is quite high if he got the bulls eye. I would give him much more than 6-8 oz, and do it several times a day, once a day and most of the CS is gone by morning. You don't want to mess around with that. Also take him to a doctor and get him on some antibiotics. Lymes is pretty easy to get rid of in the first few days, but once it set up, it can be almost impossible to get rid of.
