I've read about small doses of CS purifying drinking water, but not the particulars. Hope someone can tell me the amount, and strength, of CS needed to purify treated drinking water. As a furtherance of the question, how much is needed to purify water from an untreated source, such as a creek?
How can I tell whether the CS has actually worked - other than ingesting the water and seeing if I die? Seriously, CS would be quite useful to campers and hikers if an assured method were offered.
