From the Committee On Government Reform, dated August 23, 2000. It describes in some detail the crookedness that exists within the CDC and FDA approval processes. >>
First, I would like to thank Solar for providing exceptionally good factual information as the basis for his argument that the FDA is putting the public at unacceptable risk with regard to the way they are implementing their drug approval procedure. After reading these references it's difficult, if not impossible, to come up with any rational explanation that could explain how the benefits outweigh the risks of having recognized experts act as consultants for the FDA to evaluate drugs that have been submitted by the very same companies that are paying THEM for their professional services. If Solar wants to characterize this information as "proof" there are few of us who would argue with him, particularly from a practical point of view. >From my perspective, however, I prefer to use the term "evidence" since the FDA has not been heard in their own defense. The fact that they have chosen to remain essentially silent on this issue further condemns them in the court of public opinion. Nevertheless, since the FDA has not presented a detailed defense of their actions it seems that "due process" has not been served. So until they present their defense, and that defense has been considered and ruled upon by an appropriate and impartial tribunal (if one, in fact, exists), I'm more comfortable with the term "evidence" than I am with "proof." A small point? Perhaps, but one consistent with my political views. Roger -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver.
