Here's my opinion, based upon years of observation (that, and I was the Arizona distributor for Hanna up till a month ago when I told'm I didn't have the time any more)...
The PWT as well as the TDS1, which many people get, are both great at measuring the ionic portion of colloidal silver. They won't read the non-charged particles, however, if you are using a direct current setup, then your readings will be pretty accurate as to the ionic content. I use a TDS1, and measure my personal batches to about 7ppm with it. Here's the funny thing, my colloidal silver seems to do what it should (of course you wouldn't think so, beings that I use something that doesn't work to measure it (that was sarcasm by the way))! I know that my batches are fairly consistent, and my meter gives me a reading of what it should (by this I mean that if you take the time, temperature and water amount into consideration, the reading is what I would expect it to be). I've always said that when making colloidal silver, you can make the process as easy OR as complicated as you desire. I tend to go with the KISS method and it seems to do pretty well. Yours in health, James Allison P.S. Sorry for being away so long since my last post, but things (as usual) are pretty hairy, especially with the FDA and the FTC and the Arizona pharmacy board all coming after me at once! Can you believe they were gonna charge me with a class 6 felony if I didn't change my name from Allisons Apothecary to something else? Oh well, we go by Sunstone Herbals now, so guess who won that round :( ----- Original Message ----- From: bober...@postoffice.swbell.net To: silver-list@eskimo.com Sent: Friday, October 05, 2001 1:47 PM Subject: Re: CS>Re: Re[2]: CS>Re: Re[2]: CS>CS Makers - was Comments on AromaTherapy ... Hi Bess and Daniel, It looks like "Ole Bob" is going to be a "party pooper" A PWT is a Pure Water Tester and measures the conductivity of water. IT DOES NOT MEASURE CS PPM DIRECTLY !!!!!!!!!!! After you have established a CS protocol and have had your CS measured by either Atomic Adsorption, ESI, or spectrophotometer and do a little math it will give you a relative answer but never exact. The are too many variables in making CS for a simple meter to measure ppm. I know that there is a commercial vender of CS generators that advocates them and is happy with them. I bought one one time and junked it and I now use a spectrophotometer. Chuck did I holler too loud ??? "Ole Bob" -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver.
