In actuality, radio was first demonstrated by an American dentist; Mahlon Loomis in about 1864. Tesla was about 8 years old. Mahlon communicated between two mountaintops using kites to loft the antenna. This was before either Tesla or Marconi came up with the stuff. By the way, it appears that Marconi ripped off Tesla.
