I'm wondering who came up with the idea of using Canadian maple leaf silver
dollars as sources of silver when making CS. Who said that the silver in
these coins is pure enough to use?

Did a search on Canadian maple leaf coins found this:

says its .9999 silver everyone I've ever heard says to use at least .999 silver
