I have now found a bleach I can tolerate, a powdered oxygen bleach but
before that I used to dye my clothes that got dingy and just bought new
white clothes.  My favourite colour was Tintex "Midnight blue" and as long
as you washed all the dyed clothes together you had no problems.  I also
used this same colour to "freshen" up the colour of my jeans.

I add an extra cup of salt when I use the dye to help set the colour a bit
more.
