Presumably if one masters this kind of 'mind powers' thing then direct healing without the need for CS or anything else should be possible? To what extent though is it learnable as opposed to

In the case of Reiki, anyone can learn it. All it takes is openmindedness, willingness and some study, after which you are 'Attuned' to the Reiki energy by a Reiki Master. There are three levels in all. It is generally believed, however, that all people possess the ability to heal, it's just not exercised by most, and 'Western Thought' in general pays very little heed to the body/mind/spirit nature of humanity.

I still take my CS though. We still get sick and endure disasters in our lives. Sometimes Reiki helps to heal yourself and other times it seems to be more beneficial to have another Reiki to give you a treatment. And we still seek medical attention when necessary.

Reiki is a complementary healing method, and works to assist other forms of healing. And since the greatest healer is the body itself, it often helps the body heal itself without other interventions.
