Interesting.  I thought pica was the craving for certain clays by some
people in the past in the South of the United States, usually pregnant
women.

Does that mean that pica is the general term, and the clay snarfing is a
subset?

I did just find some information....funny thing, I have been craving soda
crackers for months....just plain soda crackers, one of the sympoms of
nutritional anemia (iron deficiency) is pica: craving of things not normally
eaten.
