Hi Marshall,
I really enjoy your posts. Just a couple of points on this one. FYI
There has been a lot of discussion here on ionic vs colloidal. Since most LVDC
CS is 90 to 95% ionic, there has been some speculation that ionic is taking part
in the action. There is good evidence that silver kills pathogens both in
metalic and ionic form. For instance, silver metal is used to sterlize water
for airplanes, the shuttle, and many water filters. Silver nitrate, which has
an ionic form of silver along with a nitrate radical has a long history of
killing bacteria, and has been used, and still is, in newborn baby's eyes to
kill gonneriah.
The metal form of silver used in water purification systems is releasing
ions into the water. Either through natural forces for very small ppb
amounts or elctrochemically for larger concentrations. The system on
the shuttle was called the "advanced prototype silver ion water
bactericide system", this was back in 1976. In 1973 Russian scientists
determined that ionized silver provides the safest and longest lasting
method of purification. Silver impregnated carbon filters coated with
silver release small amounts ions into the water. All referenced from
