I solved the HTML problem long ago. I delete, unread, every email message received in HTML format. I may miss some of the conversation but people who insist on sending email in HTML format probably don't have anything to say I'd be interested in reading. If that sounds harsh, please remember; there have been repeated requests to turn off HTML formatting. Many refuse to honor that simple, reasonable request.
