jr, that is very odd. As you state, it is much faster than a normal 
process using ordinary 12 ga wires.

Here are two question:

1. What happens if you reverse the anode and cathode?

2. Can you stop the process as soon as the misting starts and pour some 
dw into a container and add salt? If the misting is caused by silver 
ions, you should see some kind of dispersion.

If there is no dispersion, perhaps there is some other alloy in the coin 
that should not be there? Or maybe something in the dw?

I'm not sure I'd drink that until I found out what was going on. It's 
definitely not normal.
