Jack, I have always read that MSM does NOT have the solvent/transdermal transport that DMSO does. However, I used CS/MSM saturated solution (exactly as you describe making it) as ear drops and in the nebulizer for a house rabbit with severe inner ear infection. Luckily I caught the head tilt within 30 minutes of it occuring, and started him on the ear drops, and nebulizer, and gave pain relief........his little head was straight again in the morning. I kept up the drops and nebulizing through the week, and by the next weekend vet exam and xrays showed only that he had had an ear infection. In case no one knows, inner ear infections are extremely serious in rabbits, if the infection isn't resolved ASAP the head tilt becomes permanent, and the bunny disabled. JIC anyone wonders why the bunny didn't get to a vet sooner, the headtilt started at 8:30 pm on a Friday night, and the vet is 175 miles away (one way) and was not in on the Monday. By Tues. it was more than obvious it was safe to wait until Saturday to take him in. paula ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jack Dayton" <jack...@harbornet.com> > > > After reading Rob's comments regarding helping his sister's asthma, perhaps > > I should start adding MSM instead of the DMSO first. > ********************* > I can't answer that, I don't know if MSM has the > same transdermal ability as DMSO, probably some > other, more knowledged member, will elucidate. > > But if you wish to buy MSM as a powder which you > can then make up a portion as a liquid just start slowly > adding MSM to DW until no more MSM will liquefy. > I started with 8 oz of DW and I think it was about > the 4th or 5th scoop (a scoop comes in the can) that > no more would liquefy - pour off the liquid, and discard > what's left in the bottom.
