Monatomic ionic (dissolved) silver is reactive. Small clumps of silver
floating in water---a sol, are much less reactive.

Subject: CS>Silver salts question

A question from a "scientist" I'm playing verbal ping-pong with: "Wouldn't
the colloidal silver very quickly FORM salts once ingested?"
Seems we covered this, but can't find specific references. Thanks, jr
