Get a cheap multimeter and measure which is positive.

If you really want to not spend the money, then get a 9 volt battery,
and connect it in series with the charger.  If you end up getting more
voltage than the negative of the battery is connected to the positive of
the charger, and if you end up getting a lot less voltage, then the
negative of the battery is connected to the negative of the charger.
