What I do is mark the messages as being read (all at once) when I
don't have time to read them.
What good does that do?
I would like to know weeks, months, or years later which messages I
read and which ones I did not read.
That way I still have an archive on my computer that can be searched
when needed.
I have that same benefit without any marking. The archive is the same.
(Of course, all the CS stuff gets sent to a separate mail box/folder by
the Agent mail reader
I use.)
Certainly I do that also.
I have over 150 mailboxes. Last night I checked another list that I
have used for three year.
I have 24,000 messages in one box for that list, 8000 in another for
the same list, and 4000 in still another. These were intentionally split,
like.... 2003, 2000, and 2002. ( 36000 for one list )
My largest two mailbox files are 114 and 135 megs.
I am still amazed at the serious list people that never make multiple
boxes and master the filters.
My mailer actually picks up mail from 3 mail servers and 3 email
addresses ( all mine ) simultaneously. And when I reply, it is intelligent
enough to send the reply back to the right mail server. This surprised
even me.
