The Algaebar is made of a copper cylinder plated in the center with silver. This is supposed to release copper ions in a hot tub or pool and thereby kill off the algae. Is there some way to use the same principle to release silver ions in warm water without using electricity? Is there some combination of metals that will do this? Anybody know for sure? tia pj
