This is useful for us experimentors: If you start with silver ions or silver nitrate, you can generate the following in order (less stable to more stable):
silver nitrate + sodium carbonate = silver carbonate + ammonia = silver ammine + hydrochloric acid = silver chloride + thiosulfate = silver thiosulfate + iodine = silver iodide + sodium sulfide = silver sulfide I am unable to find where silver citrate and silver acetate fall into this series.
