About a week or so ago, I tried to extract the active component of tetrasil, Ag4o4, from the jojoba oil used to make it into an external ointment. I used DMSO as the extracting medium. The jojoba oil separated immediately as an oil slick. But the brownish-black Ag4o4 seemed not to mix well or dissolve into the DMSO, which remained clear.
But now, after more than a week of sitting at room temperature, it appears the Ag4o4 is dissolving into the DMSO after all, judging from the change of color of the solvent from clear to brown. Matthew
