Original formula Viadent toothpaste is no longer on the market, if I am not mistaken. It might be of interest to record its ingredients. Here they are:
Active ingredients: Sodium Monofluorophosphate (for fluoridation.) Other ingredients: Sanguinaria extract (bloodroot), Zinc chloride, Sorbitol, Water, Hydrated silica, Titanium dioxide, Carboxymethylcellulose, Sodium lauryl sulfate, Flavor, Sodium saccharin, Citric acid. The US patents for Viadent are # 4,145,412 and # 4,599,228.
