I know of NAET and TAT as energy methods for dealing with allergies - are you
thinking of one of these?
A note, many autistic kids (and ADHD kid for that matter) have multiple
allergies.

Mercury is a neurotoxin, and causes a host of negative consequences, the
degree and type of which depend on many other factors relative to the
individual and his/her environment. However, we are not all allergic to it, or
allergic to it to the same degree. This explains why only some children out of
a group vaccinated with a preparation containing Thermisol(is this correct
spelling?) will become autistic.
In a recent post a list member was asking for assistance for autistic
symptoms which developed in a child subsequent to vaccination. Another list
member sent information for asthma, which was not requested, but it came out
that the autistic child's mother had asthma! Asthma, of course, is related to
allergies. So, we are seeing that it is the children who already have allergic
sensitivities, and genetic predisposition to allergic reactions, who become
autistic subsequent to vaccination. Allergic sensitivities have a genetic
component.
In my experience, individuals who suffer consequences of mercury toxicity may
become free of same by densensitizing the allergen, without removing the
mercury. An example of this would be an individual I know who chose not to
have their entire dental work (including root canals, redone, with teeth
pulled), but simply densensitized to the mercury, with relief of symptoms.
Then I have seen cases where the neurotoxin (in this case surgical anesthesia
resulting in paralysis) could no longer be expected to be affecting the subject
(35 years later), yet the paralysis continued until the person was desensitized
to the anesthesia. Sometimes, even upon removing the presence of the allergen,
the allergic reaction continues because the body has been reprogrammed on an
energetic level (blockage of energy meridians); hence, removing the physical
cause (allergen) does not always take care of the problem.
