INfant formulas are now adding more iron and doctors
are encouraging lots of iron in the babies first year.
They also add it to baby cereal. I have several
friends whose infants have been on these forumlas and
they frequently have stomach problems. Iron can be
very hard on the stomach. I am wondering if it is
prudent for doctors to be encouraging this practice
with iron formulas. That was interesting about the
thyroid and iron anemia. I have also heard that being
deficient in vitamin b-12 can cause anemia or symptoms
of anemia. Iron overlead runs in my family and the
doctor told us that it is more common amoung those of
celtic descent. Has anyone heard of a relationship
between a supplement called laktoferrin and iron?
