I know little about this topic, but I have read various interesting related postings on this list, and in links provided here. These claim that biopsy itself is very risky.

The point was that biopsy supposedly can spread cancerous cells. Once the biopsy has been taken, according to this theory, the patient's options have already been compromised; systemic chemotherapy is called for.

The underlying idea is that the cancer's progress is at least somewhat slowed down by the material that forms the lump that is subjected to biopsy. IAW, the lump itself is a wall around the cancerous tissue.

I have no formal medical training and thus can't say whether this information is or is not correct. However, it sounds plausible.

If I were helping someone to consider medical options, I would certainly want to dig deeper.

I would also want to consider Omura's bi-digital o-ring test as a possible non-invasive method of determining the status of the lump. Alas, there are not many MDs trained in this method.

My concern for you, Wendy, is that breast cancers in younger women often are notoriously more aggressive than those found in most post menopausal patients. I hope you will go and find out for sure that your lump is non-cancerous first, and THEN cast about for supplements, treatments, massage, and other means to deal with it. Your lump probably is non-cancerous -- the great majority of them are, but finding out for sure is certainly a wonderful relief.
