The last 4 batteries I fried were 12 V, in series for my well pumps. They had no LV cutoff, and ran a piston boost pump until it would turn about once in a minute.
NEVER, HOWEVER TEMPORARILY, HOOK UP A BATTERY TO A LOAD WITHOUT A LVD. He says, in sad retrospect. Unfortunately, these are sealed gel batteries. I don't know how to get the EDTA into the gel. I think that procedure is for sulfated batteries anyway...? -----Original Message----- From: Dan Nave [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, March 08, 2006 1:43 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: CS>power for CS generators ( Batteries ) If you are not already aware of it, you might be interested to know that there is an article or two on the web which indicate that sulfated lead/acid batteries can be rejuvenated with EDTA. Yes, the same chemical that is used for chelation of heavy metals in people. I don't remember the precise details but I remember that it can be quite effective although a messy process. Bulk EDTA is available for a very low price. (I don't know if this is pure enough to use in people, but was fine for the batteries.) Dan Jim Holmes wrote: > Can ordinary lead batteries be rebuilt?
