I made a batch of CS and instead of wiping the electrodes, I swished them around in a beaker of distilled water. The gray buildup on the negative electrode was most apparent and the resultant clump of material could be seen in the beaker.
After completing the CS brew and swishing off the electrodes for the last time, I added some H2O2 (I think it was about 20 drops of 3%). Also stirred it up with a plastic spoon. (Beaker is about 500ml, I think; it came with the SilverPuppy CS maker.) I could immediately see a light tyndall consisting mostly of sparklies of different sizes. The residue eventually dropped to the bottom of the beaker. Stirred a couple of times. This morning there was still residue on the bottom of the beaker but it was finer, but that could have been merely a result of the stirring. Lots of bubbles in the water. Is this material going to go into solution? I thought I could at least use it for the plants or something instead of just wiping it off on a paper towel. Perhaps with more H2O2...
