Rubbing the scar area daily or twice daily for a long time (say, 3 months) softens the scars and, over time, causes them to be absorbed.
I have seen some good effect from Castor Oil on a Caesarian scar (which looked like a giant purple nightcrawler) and a burn scar, and have heard that olive oil and some other oils are effective. My stepmother used Coconut Oil to remove a facial scar from an infected insect bite. Peanut oil is supposed to be good for pitted areas too. You might want to combine the DMSO and Vegetable Oil therapies, but perhaps by alternating them. I don't know what the result of mixing them together would be. On a side note, I wish the people requesting advice like this would respond later with their results, good or bad, so that we can get feedback on whether these things have actually worked for individuals.
