We are having as much trouble with doctors and referals to specialists as we did getting a positive diagnosis. My son finally got in to see a GI specialist, five months after he was first diagnosed. He is to start the 'blood letting' this week. They plan to take one pint a week "until he can't take it anymore" then reduce it to once every two weeks and so forth until the iron overload is somewhat controlled. He has stopped taking vitamin C and multi vitamins. Thanks for your help!! Trudy, somewhere I have some information on that subject. I will look for it and get back to you. About the iron overload, Did your doctors suggest having blood taken from him on a monthly basis for a while? It is important that your son does not take vitamins with iron in them or to much vitamin C as this vitamin causes iron absorbtion. --------------------------------- Yahoo!
