An interesting quote from one of Terry Chamberlin's files, "Silver The Healthful Metal".
"The pH of silver colloids should fall between 6.5 and 8 because increasing amounts of silver oxide will appear as the pH of the solution falls below 6.5 and silver oxide is a less effective bactericide than pure silver. Silver oxides can be removed by filtration. If water is double distilled oxygen-free water having a pH 7, silver oxides will not be produced. Distilled water may be flushed with helium to remove excess oxygen without adding impurities."
