Here`s how I handle my hay: I cut a bale open, and put each pat in a plastic bag, then load the bags in my car. It is for my guinea pigs! One bale lasts ohh, 3 months or so. I have 20 piggies, with more coming soon. Piggies are so much cheaper than my Arabian horse was to feed, but gee, it is really hard to ride the tiny rascals! I have to tie one under each foot. I don`t go very far for some reason...Hmm. :o) Marshalee PS, I agree with Maynard Krebs: "WORK!!!!" said in a dismayed tone of voice...

I'm *only * 61, and I can only handle hay bales by dragging them (thank goodness for hay-hooks). I don't know what our hay bales weigh, but I'm guessing maybe 40 to 50 lbs. This gal, whoever she is, is my hero!! > > > Work is a blessing in disguise. It must be done if one is to be heathy. > > Yup -- I sure agree with that.
