I watched my wonderful grandfather, who looked like a lumberjack, shrivel up to
a skeleton with lung cancer. He smoked unfiltered cigarettes for years , his
last moments were trying to call on for help on the phone when he could no
longer breathe we found him on the living room floor dead with the phone in his
hand.
THAT impacted me..... it broke my heart and I threw them out and took up a
crochet class, not so great for guys I know, but every time I got edgy or bored
I grabbed the project , carried it with me and produced some wonderful presents
for my family for years.
I believe if you really put your mind to something you can do anything....my
brother kicked a cocaine habit cold turkey and my father who was an alcoholic
for sixty years, I mean falling down drunk, was so impressed by his kicking the
drugs he stopped drinking cold turkey. But the key is to get that
mindset....dieing from lung cancer is a horrible slow way to go and you leave
behind broken hearts of your family and friends.
