I once read an article or essay about someone visiting a famous
nutritionist, and being agog to find out what wonders he would produce for a meal. He brought in some strawberries from the garden and ate them. End of
menu.

If you are having problems anyway, it might be advisable to do the purist
thing and stick to separate food groups while you are not well. When you
are better again, you can do some trials to see whether just veg or just
fruit or mixed suits you better. How would you determine it, by pain or
gas? It might be that the only result would be less energy to digest the
next meal - but you might not be aware of that anyway.
I've chosed to just have veg or fruit but not mixed to be on the safe side.

What would be 'normal' to me would be a mon diet - you eat one thing. An
apple or 5. Or a deer.

Juicing raw and combining is different. Juices are all loaded with
enzymes, and will self-digest and be readily absorbed in the intestines,
so juice away... some do combine badly, though - like citrus... best to
keep them separate...
