Thanks Sam! I'm using 2 bars (flatned silver wires) which we buy from
the jeweler. I use a 15 amp/volt? adapter with alligator clips,
insulated and tied together with rubber bands so that the bars are no
more than 1/2 " apart. Of course, I use distilled water. Does that
sound right?

< Yes thats about right if the silver is 99.99 pecent pure. The 1/2 inch
spacing is alittle bit to close in my opinion, 1 inch to 1 1/2 < < inchs is
better but it will slow the brew time. Using 1/2 inch spacing a gallon will
talk about 10 hours to brew ( my best guess) 1 < < inch spacing =15 hours
and 1 1/2 inch =24 hours. Make sure your using the air bubbler for stiring.
You will need to experiment < < around a little bit for the amount of time
needed. Your looking a a brew thats clear (best) or light yellow 24 hours
after brewing the CS. I cant tell you what the ppm will be, you might want
to invest in a ppm meter.

I also have a gadget made by Wayne Green which uses 3-9 volt battries &
2 silver wires. Which do you think is better?

< I would use the 15 volt adapter to start off with and dont add a pinch
of salt to the brew like Wayne Green suggests.>

Are we having fun, yet?? YES!! LOL

Hi Rebecca.
Try to shoot for 5 ppm just starting out. Do you have just one 5inch
silver wire or two? If you only have one wire I would try and get another.
Heres some links that might help you out.
