DMSO is a liquid solvent made from wood pulp. It can penetrate the skin from a topical application, and can cause other chemicals to penetrate the skin with it. It is used in conjunction with CS if you want it to penetrate into the skin or mucous membranes, etc. It is good for reducing the effects of sprains and bruises.
