I had installed NetBSD 1.2 a while back.. I documented the steps here.. http://gunkies.org/wiki/Installing_NetBSD_1.2_on_the_SIMH_MicroVAX_II <http://gunkies.org/wiki/Installing_NetBSD_1.2_on_the_SIMH_MicroVAX_II> And I should have an installed version kicking around on sourceforge http://sourceforge.net/projects/bsd42/ <http://sourceforge.net/projects/bsd42/> http://sourceforge.net/projects/bsd42/files/4BSD%20under%20Windows/v0.4/NetB SD-1.2-MicroVAXII.7z/download <http://sourceforge.net/projects/bsd42/files/4BSD%20under%20Windows/v0.4/Net BSD-1.2-MicroVAXII.7z/download> When NetBSD re-introduced support for the VAX I belive it was mostly the 730/750 and then the MicroVAX II. The first bianry distribution I could find was 1.2 although it was incredibly unstable in SIMH and I had to use some parts of 1.3 to get it installed. What version of NetBSD are you hoping to run?

I have an interest in the Vax 780, I'm looking to run netsd on an emulated vax 780 yet am unsure of how i should configure the machine and start the install procedure. There is a guide on how to do so at the netbsd site, however it documents setting up and installing on a more modern microvax 3900, where as I am interested in the Vax 780. http://www.netbsd.org/ports/vax/emulator-howto.html <http://www.netbsd.org/ports/vax/emulator-howto.html> Any help on this matter is much appreciated. _______________________________________________ Simh mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.trailing-edge.com/mailman/listinfo/simh
