The Monitor Command Manual from 1973 says in appendix 10, "Reloading the
System":

  "If the system is being loaded without the PDP-6, then the current
  date and time must be typed in at the CTY during the reloading
  sequence."

From this information, it would sound like it would be worth a shot to
try running WAITS on a single KA10 processor.
