Okay, so I've narrowed this down a little. Firstly, the steps on the Wiki aren't very good. Secondly, I found an example page here: http://simile-widgets.googlecode.com/svn/timeline/trunk/src/webapp/site/examples/test_example2/test_example2.html and thirdly, theme.event.tape.height breaks things. If I omit it, everything works fine.
Why does changing theme.event.tape.height break things, and how can I change my tape height, since I really need to?!
