Makes sense. As more people start to use Exhibit and dig deeper into its functionality, I can easily see people wanting more control over the various components.
Perhaps a way to address this is to allow facets/expressions/functions as input to Timeline band eventSources. Each timeline band can display a subset of an existing Exhibit feed or as an individual Exhibit feed (since Exhibit can take multiple data feeds.)
