Alas, in the meantime, the machine/browser (not mine) where I was able to
consistently get the "refresh" error was upgraded to Safari 4.0.3 (5530.19)
and I can no longer reproduce any "refresh/damage-area fix" issues in Safari
4 related to Exhibit .... It looked more like a browser bug than a simile
bug.
My remaining cross-platform issue has to do with new sizing and rendering
bugs introduced by IE8:
