Hi,
I'm trying to setup a rule where I can have a variable-threshold to determine
whether a minimum number of Linux systems in a POD are still available to
assign to a function. A POD being a collection of nodes that perform a given
function.
Here is the basic logic.
1. Event comes in that a particular node has gone down.
2. Based on a pod-table, I determine which pod the node belongs to.
3. I then want to set a threshold based on the pod-table size.
4. If I am below the threshold... then issue "action".
5. If I am above the threshold... then issue "action2".
Now.. this sounds like something "SingleWithThreshold" could do (BUT) !!!
I see two problems that I haven't figured out in my short-time with SEC:
1. How do I keep a running count of nodes that have gone down (or does
SEC do this in SingleWithThreshold)?
2. If I'm working with multiple PODs with different node-counts in each
POD, then how can I dynamically set a threshold based on the POD size?
Is there an easy way to do this, or is this a perl code-writing exercise
outside of SEC?
Thanks.
