sure, actually I had intended to send my response both to you and the mailing list. At the moment it looks like a systemd quirk anyway ... I'm just experimenting with - using 'Type=simple' and dropping the '-detach' in the unit file - tweaking the value of 'TimeoutStopSec' - explicitly adding 'KillSignal=TERM' and some other stuff in various combinations. What drives me crazy is that there does not seem to be any pattern showing up yet ...
