Thank you or all of the help and feedback.
I am using Kubuntu these days and have no problems with the scan tool
installation. I still use a Brother MFC-J825DW printer/scanner.
However, the Kubuntu scan tool does not seem to scan front and back of a
document, save it as such and print it as a two-sided copy of the
original.
So, I do all my scanning using LinuxMint Mate (current version) and its
scan tool which works a treat.
