In reality, there is only one activity, and that reality IS the activity.
Love is what you are, and is simulaneously the single real activity.
While love is real, the word "love" is a dreamside descriptive term that attempts to illustrate what reality is. More accurately, what you are, what is real, what the foundation of love is....is peace. It is clear that peace does not mean nonviolence, for peace knows nothing of violence or nonviolence.
Regarding substance of reality:
The activity that love is, that you are, is the extending of awareness of it by universal sharing of it throughout the sonship. This loving, this extending of substance, is giving, is sharing, is continually and constantly, evenly, consistently offering all that you are (which is totally ALL) to all that you are. This loving, this extending never wavers, never is unevenly distributed, for it is whole and wholly distributing to all of itself. Without this activity which is what love actually is, reality would not be real, and everything would cease to exist. However, such an idea is false, is impossible, and could never be. This is so because love is whole and wholly alive, with neither its substance nor activity being divisible, capable of violation or being violated, specifically because of that impossibility of division or separation.
Regarding knowledge:
There is no difference between the whole knowledge (awareness) of God and the substance of reality...peace (called love, or arising into the apparent dream world as love). The word "knowledge" however speaks of this reality in terms of further clarifying and describing its activity of extending love. Each and all of the sonship is all-knowing (omniscient)...for without such all-inclusion of knowing, extending love would be impossible. Knowledge must be whole, must be wholly available throughout the sonship, and wholly received by all of the sonship...for if it were not, its lack of wholeness would make the idea of separation real, and everything would cease to exist. Since this is not and cannot be the case, it exists forever.
Regarding awareness, seeing, consciousness and counterfeit substitutes for these:
Some controversy has been extant about awareness and consciousness. True awareness (as spoken of two paragraphs above) is synonymous with seeing, and is whole, indivisible, permanent and unchanging or unwavering. Seeing as awareness is the truth throughout the sonship always, for if the son of god were truly blind, he could not awaken. Thus it begins to be seen that his seeming to be asleep dreaming is not literal, but is a counterfeit of vision or seeing. Consciousness is the same. That is, there is a true consciousness, and it is precisely the same as awareness or seeing. Similarly, there is a false consciousness, or in other words, consciousness of the dream, awareness of the dream, or seeing the dream....and this by any terminology is simply perception.
You must be noticing that I am saying an awful lot of these words we banter about mean the same thing. That is quite true, and each word simply points at reality from a different dreamside perspective. The words themselves are perceptions, but the reality toward which they inadequately attempt to point is one reality. Similarly, the counterfeits for these, often using exactly the same words, are separate, divisible, changing, temporary copies of these perspectives being substituted for the reality and attempting to point away from that reality by stating that their temporariness is that reality. This is easily seen when people talk about love as feelings that come and go and are volatile and deeply unfaithful on a regular basis. This is easily seen when people talk about knowledge as a collection of separated thoughts structured and assembled just so in a complex matrix.
More general statements:
Everyone is love, and thus is whole now, is indivisible or inseparable from the whole of God now. This means that, in being inseparable from God, everyone IS God right now. We are not a holy son who is less than his father, nor are we a holy son who is separate from his father in order to be less than his father. We create like our father because we ARE our father. It has been said many times that we are not our creator, and that we did not create ourselves...but this simply is untrue. There is no one else to create but the one whole reality of peace/love. Jesus' disciples asked him to show them the father. Jesus was pretty clear about the fact that he was the father, that there was no difference in seeing him and seeing the father. He was not speaking in riddles, metaphor, simile, etc., but was being very very literal. And yet, when one called him good master, he rebuked him, stating that there is only ONE good, and that is God. When Jesus spoke these words, he knew that they had misunderstood, for the real Jesus was indeed the father, was God himself, and yet they were worshipping the image-personage or appearance they called Jesus. Creation....or as some would say, cocreation, is the universal, single activity of love. There is no central father who creates more, better or first, for creation is always continuous and all have always been both creating and created. The idea that God at some point created us, and therefore we should be grateful, is a multilevel misconception. God, who is all of us together, is ALWAYS creating (sharing love throughout the sonship, or thoughout himself), and every eternal and wholly conscious individuation who is the whole is both wholly giving and wholly receiving that extension of love that creating is. This indivisible activity of the substance of love being infinitely alive IS SEEING, IS KNOWLEDGE, IS AWARENESS, IS CONSCIOUSNESS, IS PEACE, IS LOVE, IS JOY.....IS IS IS IS IS....WITHOUT END. You all ARE that. You all are creating right now...absolutely regardless of whether you accept the atonement in time or not.
The counterfeits of this, in myriad form and word descriptors, is quite complex, comes and goes suddenly and without rational reason (although often with apparent logic).
The obviously begged question is, well just what is this dream, this need to awaken, the very poignant and often painful lack of seeing, knowledge, understanding, awareness....you name it???
It is denial. It is refusal to see, refusal to know, refusal to look and be aware, refusal to understand.
But I try so hard, I do want to see, to know, to understand!!!
Well, this may seem to you to be so. However, if this frustration continues year after year, perhaps you should reevaluate your idea that this is what you want...for if you truly, wholly wanted this, it clearly would be the case for you. So, while it may seem to you to not be the case that you can see now, I assure you that it IS the case.
Rather than bouncing back and forth and trying to determine what Jesus and Helen were trying to point at here, and over there, and yet again over here, consider what is said in this fashion:
Example-
1. ACIM says you are in heaven now, and that you are heaven itself...and asks what else did God create but you?
2. ACIM says you are in a dream, and need to awaken to heaven.
While both are true, only one is true about your reality. The other is true only about a dream that is not so. So just take a look at those two statements. Which one is true about your reality? I think it is pretty clear that your reality is that you are in heaven now.
The question arises...which one of these two statements to you affirm more often? Do you say you're in heaven 9 times out of ten? Or do you say you're trapped in a dream 9 times out of ten? The answer to this question has a profound dreamside impact on your experience in the dream, the perception alignment factor of it, and the journey length aspect of it. The common idea of "honesty" is to make statements that agree with the truth. If you believe the truth is that you are actually separate and trapped in a dream, and you thus state to everyone constantly....I'm confused and do not understand because I am still in the dream....you are not being honest, you are affirming a lie. To be honest, you must tell the truth...and that is NOT the truth. But it may feel like the truth and your belief system may keep telling you that it is the truth.
This can seem to be a difficult dilemma, but it really is rather simple. You have the freedom to lie (refuse the truth). You keep sending to soul (the reporting function of will and vision) the message that you are trapped in a dream. Thus, your soul faithfully offers you vision agreeing with your affirmation. You are actually telling your soul to show you a dream trap. Thus your false version of honesty is perpetuating the lie. It may seem like a lie to you to tell the truth about your reality, but it isn't...it is merely unfamiliar and seemingly unsupported by the evidence. And that brings you back to why you keep saying you are in a dream...the evidence you are looking at and relying upon is perception (of false vision). Even this "looking" is false, for you are actually in heaven, looking upon the holy face of the only begotten...for that is all there is to look at or see. So your false looking is a counterfeit as well, and your idea of what looking is, is false. You look to see images (idols, images graven upon soul by false reporting to it), and thus you believe that you see these, and you accept the false visions you make as though it were reality. It is not literally dreaming as though some chain of events and situations were befalling you, but instead it is you refusing to look at reality, dividing your attention and attempting to see what is not there...and relying upon your idol imagery as evidence about your reality.
YOU DO SEE NOW. BUT YOU DENY WHAT YOU SEE AND COVER IT OVER WITH SUBSITUTES OF VISUAL IMAGERY AND CONCEPTUALIZATIONS IN TIME (PAST AND FUTURE....NOW HAS NO PLACE IN TIME). It is your continual insisting on the dream in almost every way that perpetuates it. Forgiving the dream is about reversing this process. Reversing does not actually mean doing the process backwards, but rather has to do with undoing the process. It has to do with looking at reality instead of the dream...at least some substantial part of the time (even if that is only a few minutes a day). It has to do with developing awareness of what you look at that specifically is real. It has to do with relying upon evidential understanding which arises from that awareness, and subsequent (perceptual view of it) building confidence in the whole idea that is real, instead of the multitude of structured partial ideas in your belief system that are completely unreal.
We speak of the ego often enough. We characterize it and make a persona of it. But the ego is nothing more than our refusal to look at ourself out of fear of ourself. This fear is born from not understanding ourself. The failure to understand is from refusing to look, and thus we see that it is very cyclic and often cumulative. If one desires that their perception or counterfeit vision would become like what they actually see and know, they must become willing to stop refusing and denying. In order to stop, all that is needed is to look at one's own reality, for it is the reality of the all...and allow it to impact their perceived world of evidence, gradually aligning it with reality, and eventually erasing it altogether.
Stop saying you're not there simply because your idol vision pronounces you as a dreamer whose dreams are real. Instead, say you are looking at the reality of spirit within and that you are seeing it even though your perception or false vision is not reporting it to you correctly. This sends the truth to soul, and soul has absolutely no choice but to begin multiplying this back to you as vision. Such shift in perception may take longer than you want, but it took a very long time to get in the state it is in. When the perceptual shift takes place, it will seem that understanding is increasing little by little, with occasional quantum leaps. However, that is only perception. Remember that you are already in heaven, fully awake, continually creating or sharing/extending love to all the sonship RIGHT NOW. Do all things in remembrance of me (christ spirit within), and know that I within you am whole, and filled with knowledge, and am that one you truly are. Speak of this, think of this, even seem to dream of this, go to bed with it on your lips, wake up with it filling your mind...for as you are willing to confess the truth of this more and more, a great glory will appear on the horizon. At first, it may appear as a small cloud, about the size of a man's hand (metaphorically...biblical), and when it does, be glad, for it is the evidence of truth breaking through into your dream of the oncoming rain that shall wash away your lies. But first, you must be willing to admit that they ARE lies.
Looking at reality is the complete reversal of thought(s) and undoes their foundation.
Confessing the truth is a catalyst to forgiving the dream.
The only way to truly forgive your brothers and yourself and God, is to look at these as one within until you see them as they are. And that IS forgiveness, and as pertains to the older idea of forgivness, reveals nothing in need of forgiving.
