I have come this day to further, with you, My discussion of A Course in Miracles. It would not be possible for you
to be afraid
Unless you felt that there existed a will different from your own. I have spoken about the fear of the Will of God, And what a strange belief it is indeed. For the truth is that there is no difference Between your will and the Will of God. Only if you existed apart from
God,
And you had a will of your own, And God had a will of His own, And those wills were different And could therefore be in conflict � Only then would there ever be cause for fear. For if there is a will that could oppose yours, Then somehow that will might be able to change what you are, Which you would perceive as being able to destroy you. Insofar as there is no opposition Anywhere within the universe as God has designed it, Then there exists no room whatsoever For fear. So if you speak of being a
God-fearing person,
As many of you are wont to do, Realize that what you are assuming is that First, you are separate from God, And second, that God has a will different from your own, Which He might exercise to oppose you, And ultimately to destroy you. Were this the case, then indeed Your fear would be absolutely justified. However, nothing is more absurd than the belief That your will is different from God�s. God is the Creator.
God is the Cause of everything. Nothing exists at all but what has arisen Out of the Mind of God. And God, being One within Himself, Could not possibly create that which would oppose Him. He could only do that if He were split within Himself, Which has not happened, and cannot be. However, when you chose to
seemingly split your mind,
In order to be able to come here, You did so by learning to project. And in your projection, you are wont to project upon God The same circumstance that you imagine for yourself. And thus you very easily and readily Imagine that God�s Mind is split, Just as you perceive your own to be. And if God�s Mind is split, then of course There can arise, within God Itself, opposition. This false belief in opposition Many of you have named the devil. And I tell you this day, The devil does not exist, and cannot exist, Simply because God is One. His Mind is not split, and cannot be. To accept reality is to accept
the simple fact
That God is One. That is all. If God is One � not split at all, which He cannot be � If God is One, and you are part of God, Then it follows that you are part of that great Oneness. Of this I have been speaking these many weeks. Insofar as you are part of the great Oneness, Then, of course, there can be no split between you and God. For within Oneness, how can there be duality? The word Oneness itself demands
that
Duality not be able to exist. The acceptance of reality is quite simple, really, And quite logical as well, Even to your thinking minds. And so if you would accept the Atonement, You must begin by accepting within your mind An awareness of reality itself. And that is, as I have been saying, simply this � God is One. All is One. There is no difference between your will And the Will of God. That is all. I have spoken of prayer, and the
answer to prayer.
Let us think about prayer itself In the awareness of what I have just said to you. There is no opposition to anyone or anything in all of Creation. Such is the nature of reality. Such is the nature of God. The belief that such might not be true Is the source of the belief in separation � And, of course, the source of all fear. I have already told you quite
clearly,
That if your will is different from God�s, or any other will, Then the possibility exists that another will might, In its opposing you, destroy you. And thus you must be afraid. The belief in separation is the
source of fear,
And is the ONLY POSSIBLE source of fear. This world is based on a belief in separation. And thus I say to you, as you look about your world, Fear has made everything you see. For insofar as you see a world where There can possibly exist separate beings with separate wills, You must be afraid. And if you include God as one of
those beings
With a separate will, then of course You must, as well, fear God. And how can you pray to a being whom you fear? Terrifying, indeed, it is. And yet that is what so many of you are wont to do. You make a request of God, Believing that His Will is different from yours, Somehow hoping that your supplications Will cause God to change His mind � So that for one brief moment He will agree with you, And grant you what you ask. And then you further hope that in the next moment He will not unchange His mind and take it from you � Or in the worst scenario, as I have mentioned, destroy you. Actually there is one scenario
worse than that,
Which is even more absurd � And that is that God would choose not to destroy you, But simply to put you in a state of torture forever and forever. And this you call hell. And this you call God�s Love. How absurd. Do you see? If you would truly pray, and
would truly receive,
Then your prayer MUST arise from the awareness of reality. Your prayer must arise from the awareness That in all of Creation there is no will separate from your own. If ever your wishes, and therefore your prayers, Would be to generate: or increase, separation, Then they are really prayers to increase your fear. Do you see? And so if you would pray to God,
to me, or to the Holy Spirit,
And say �Please make me more afraid than I already am.�, How can there be an answer? For if love is the opposite of fear, and God loves you, Then nothing in God�s creation, in Its reality, Would ever increase your fear. And no answer the Holy Spirit would ever bring to you Would increase your fear. No answer I would ever bring to you Would ever increase your fear. And, hear me very, very well, No answer any brother would ever bring to you Could possibly increase your fear. And so if you would pray out of
a desire to be separate,
You are but proving to yourself why it is That the ego and the Holy Spirit exist With a total block of communication. The Holy Spirit begins by saying, �We are One.� The ego begins by saying, �We are separate. We are not one.� Then how can one say to the other, �Let us sit down and discuss the nature of life?� Do you see how absurd it is? So if you would truly pray,
Bring whatever request you would have On behalf of your brother. For you must realize, in your Oneness, That if your brother does not receive The selfsame answer to your prayer, You, likewise, cannot receive it. When I tell you to never doubt
your brother,
I mean, �Simply believe in him.� And to believe in him means to accept and to appreciate him. When you accept your brother you simply acknowledge, Beyond the words, at the level of experience, That you are One. And when you appreciate your brother You give true value to him, Which simply means that you see him In the truth of what he is, Which is the Son of God, One with you and all of Creation. And so I tell you never to doubt
your brother.
Which is also to say, never doubt that He deserves everything you deserve. Never doubt that he is as worthy of everything as are you. As you realize that God is everything, and God is One, Then you must realize that your brother has everything, And furthermore, deserves the everything That God has given him. Because he IS the most loved, The most appreciated being in all of Creation � Just as are you, and me, and everyone. Insofar as you realize that your
brother has everything,
Then everything becomes yours. And if you have everything, What request can you make? In the world of ideas, which it is, In the world where ideas Can only be strengthened by being shared, What can be your only prayer? As you sit and look within, And realize that you have everything, Your only prayer can be to have That with which you may share the everything. And that is the definition of creation. God created you to be a being
with whom
He could share everything. And you, in like nature to God, do the same. You create your brother just as God has done. And you and your brother are co-creators, as I have told you. You create your brother for the sole purpose of being able To share with him the everything that you are. So that is the only prayer
You can ever offer to the Holy Spirit, �How can I share the everything I have?� If you would, alas, see yourself as separate, Therefore incomplete, and therefore afraid, And would pray in order to receive, Of course you think of bargaining. You would bargain with your brothers. But above all, you would bargain with God. But, if God gives everything completely to all beings, How can you bargain? How absurd as well! Do you see? If you would pray in order to
receive,
Based on your belief in lack and separation, Then you would not value that which you receive. For insofar as you believe yourself separate, You believe in bargaining. And you, because of the nature of God, Can not receive value greater than that which you give. You can attempt to do so in your world. You can attempt to pay a small price and receive a great return. But all that will happen is that You will end up not valuing what you have received. The only way to receive fully is
to pay full measure.
And if you would receive EVERYTHING, Then what must you give in order to receive it? Of course, you must give everything. Ah! But that is one of the laws of God. To give and to receive are the same. This is so, simply because you are One with God, And with all of Creation. There is nothing but your Self. What you give is, and must be, Given to your Self. And so it stands. If you would
ever receive
That which you might pray for, You must measure the value of what you receive By what you would give. And how could you want less than everything? 'Tis God�s gift to you. It is your inheritance. And it is yours even if you believe it not to be so. So if you would design to receive everything, Then that is what you must give � Everything. And you do that by never
doubting
That your brother is One with you, And worthy of your gift of everything. The acceptance of reality is
simply to accept that all is One.
There is no separation. There is no difference between your will and the Will of God, Or any will in all of Creation. And in that awareness, fear is gone. And in the awareness that all is
One,
Then of course, everything that is, is yours. And since it is all but ideas, The only way you can give it is to give it as an idea. And thus it strengthens within you The same idea you have given away. And thus your perfect completeness Becomes more complete than it was, Even though such is not possible to your thinking mind. The acceptance of reality is the
realization
That, if you would receive, You must give in order to do so. In your awareness that your brother is One with you, And worthy of every gift that you can give, Then what you shall do is give everything. And then what shall be answered Is any prayer you might ever have prayed. For in the giving of everything, That is exactly what you must receive. Blessings upon you all. That is
all.
The inner light can answer any of this world's queries and resolve any of its problems. Beyond all of these concerns, the inner light will show you who you are and your relationship to all...and bring you an understanding of love and peace that transcends ordinary human thought processes.
