Hello All!
Here are more notes from the ACIM
International Tribute and Celebration
Conference in Salt Lake City.
Immediately after Tom and Linda Carpenter's
afternoon presentation (which John Nagy
attended) we went into John's workshop
where for me he confirmed and established
Tom's thoughts.
An introduction: "John Nagy has
produced
and engineered hundreds of records and film
scores for 25 years and earned over thirty gold
and platinum awards, including a Emmy for best
original music for documentary. He began his
Course study in the 80's and now teaches
healing principles nationally.
John is chairman of the Quest Foundation
www.Questfoundation.org which distributes
information on deep internal work. John does
private counseling and is the author of; Ours
Is The Voice for God."
About his workshop: "Ours Is the Will of God!
John says, 'This may seem hard to believe,
but the Will of all that is Holy is dedicated
alone to your happiness. All influences are
working completely on behalf of your well
being, your experience of peace. Love has
no other purpose than to feel Itself, and there
is no need to wait another day for the
attainable birthright. Come, join with me
and let me share with you my discoveries
of wholeness and innocence. It's not difficult;
it's not extraordinary; but in fact, enlightenment
is completely ordinary and accessible. Our
encounter together will include talk, questions,
and laughter!"
The workshop notes:
"Thinking is a waste of the mind. Trust your way
out,
love your way out, feel your way out [of the
illusion].
This is not a rational problem. This is an insane
problem. Truth is true and whatever real is
constant.
[John made reference to the idea that the solution
to
a problem has to come from a level other than where
the problem was made.]
"The highest form of prayer is self love. We feel
our
way out by being willing to be comforted, willing to
feel good. ACIM says it is easier than
sleep.
"The voice from within will customize its
_expression_
for you ... and its love personally for you. You'll see
something that will work for you.
"Belief is circular. Belief will not get you out. Our
job
is not to get rid of beliefs, but see in them the lack
of significance. They are harmless and cannot
hurt
you. Nothing is bad. See through them. The
universe
is waiting to be told by us what it is.
"Whatever I do cannot make me good or bad. God,
who we are, does not acknowledge error. It's an easy
fix [because] it has no significance. [John pointed to
a small spot on the wall.] Did any of you notice
this?
'No!' Does it have any effect on who we
are?
"We don't have to get rid of anything. Just see
it for
what it is. Embrace it. Don't struggle with
it. Take
it easy.
"There can't be ego and love.
"This moment is the tiny tick of time in which we
forgot to laugh. The ego can be aligned with
truth
right along with you. This room is filled with
darkness, but you can't see it because it is
filled
with light. [John flicked the lights off and
then
back on to demonstrate.]
"How can we know what anything is for?
What purpose would you have a thing be for ...
healing or punishment? Give it the purpose
that would serve you.
"Nothing is designed to make you suffer.
Something in one part of the mind is
wanting to be embraced by another part.
Inclusion is all there is.
"On self love: I had been studying the course
for five years and I still didn't feel loved. One
day I was sick of it. I sat on the front steps
of my house screaming at Jesus, cussing God.
God said: ' Well, that's fine. Is it all
right if I love
you? Just feel your self loved.' I did.
All love is
self love. It was my own love that I was
feeling.
"Make a mistake and let it be fine. Mistakes
are showing us what does not work.
"The only glitch [in our thinking] is judging the
day. At the end of each day bless
it.
"All love is maximal. The tiniest glimmer of
love is infinite.
"We can still be in the body and know the
fullness of love. 'The light is so bright I
can see it with closed eyes.' *
Q. Is it okay to get involved in
political causes?
A. Yes. Just don't believe in
your political causes,
but do it if you want to. [When relating to
others]
remember to present your truth to the highest
level
of what the learner you meet is capable of
hearing.
"There is no such thing as the unconscious. You
are just selecting what you want to see.
Everything
is conscious.
"Love is always appropriate even at the level
of form. We can't try to be compassionate.
Just allow compassion to be. Inflict your
passion on people!
"The Holy Spirit is the self in remembrance
of God.
"The happy dream is the dream in which we can
play and rest. Don't worry about being led
astray.
There is no unconscious.
"Use the word continuity instead of
holiness.
"You tell your mind who you are. [John made
reference to WB 150 'My mind holds only
what I think with God.'
"Instead of error see ego as a harmless
thought.
Why think of it as fearful. Within our unlimited
potential every thought is possible. There will
be thought, but it can be seen as harmless. The
idea that I have to stop having that thought is now
a condition of thought.
"Use no value judgments.
"Jesus on the cross: 'This is my trip.' It
is not
unique, just a separate _expression_ of our self
crucifixion, an _expression_ that seems to be
happening. Jesus is part of the _expression_ of
the separated self. Get off the
cross.
"God is ordinary. Love is so everywhere and
so everything that it is nothing esoteric, nothing
rare. Just assume it.
"Thought is harmless therefore the mind is
innocent."

As with Tom and Linda
Carpenter's presence
the light in John's message seemed to permeate
my soul with the
idea that this waking up needn't
be a difficult thing to
do. This is who we are.
I am at home. Fear is the stranger here.
WB 160
This seminar was for me a validation of
my
vision that everything is good and
beautiful.
Everything that's occured in my "life" was
gently planned to wake me up. I now view
it for the purpose for which is was
intended.
"Forget not that the healing of God's Son
is all the world is for" p.512
There are no walls of limitation at all. There
is no need to do a thousand little forgivesses
a day, although that practice might have been
needed at first. Forgiveness is knowing that
nothing happened. I need have no personal story.
When I truly begin to see the illusion for what it
is the path becomes a journey. The "path" was
strewn with stones to trip me up. Now
the rocks
and the hard places become stepping stones on
the lovely journey without distance.
"There is no effort, and you will be led as gently
as if you were being carried down a quiet path
in summer. Only your own volition seems to
make deciding hard. The Holy Spirit will not
delay in answering your every question what
to do. He knows. And He will tell you, and
then do it for you. You who are tired will
find
this is more restful than sleep"

End the struggle. Start seeing from the
inside
rather than the outside. And know the only
way to teach it is to be it.
I am the hundredth monkey!

Regarding the myth of the hundredth
monkey:
My understanding is no one was out there counting
monkeys, but the
metaphor is a good
one. The inner light can answer any of this world's queries and resolve any of its problems. Beyond all of these concerns, the inner light will show you who you are and your relationship to all...and bring you an understanding of love and peace that transcends ordinary human thought processes.
