Hi All,
I had to move my mail server software (hope it's only temporarily) to
a separate machine, an old Mac IIci. It works well, the users don't
see a speed or performance difference compared with the other machine
(which was an 8500 with a slightly faster processor than it
originally came with).
However, SIMS 1.8b8 68k seems not to allow me the password
authentication feature for sending mail. If I send a message via
SIMS, I first get a "we don't relay"-error message. I can send then
after I have made a POP request without problem.
I have set up SIMS identically as before, with "Advertise AUTH
capability" on, and I did not change the settings in my Eudora
application (allow Authorization is checked).
Is it possible that the 68k-version of 1.8b8 does not properly handle
SMTP authorization? I had no problem with the PPC-version.
Thank you and best wishes, Christian.
